Since 1995 we have had over 600, TV, radio, glossy-print and fishwrapper press come to Buck’s to speak with me and my customers. We are all experts here on everything from string theory to what really happened to Jimmy Hoffa.
We get a lot of famous visitors to Buck’s and there is always a trail of journalists following them. We have had Presidents and Kings; movie star and murders. It all happens here and it happens all the time.
In the end, though, we are just a neighborhood joint. When people ask me what is the most spectacular thing that ever happened at Buck’s I would say that it was the time a woman came in here for her birthday. It was a western theme party and the birthday girl was all decked out in boots, a Dale Evans skirt, a pair of toy six guns and a cowgirl hat. She was 102-years-old and had no clue what was going on. That same evening the Brandenburg twins made their first trip out of the house at two-weeks-old. They had no clue what was going on. But take it from me it is all going on.
